VINTAGES
Château Fonroque 2015
Weather Conditions During the Growing Season
The year 2015 was marked by a very distinct seasonal pattern. A relatively mild spring arrived on time following a cold and wet winter. June, which was dry and hot, provided favorable conditions for flowering. July continued the summer trend, leading to an early halt in vine growth. Finally, the thunderstorms in August and September prevented this vintage from becoming overly sun-drenched and helped balance the vines’ development.
The harvest began in mid-September and was completed within the month.

Tasting
The color is beautiful and deep, promising a rich wine. The nose is complex, blending notes of opium powder, black fruits, a hearth, and violets. The palate is juicy, refreshing, and velvety. It evokes fine silks and flannels, as well as rock—even the purest spring water. The wine brings to mind blueberries and old-fashioned roses. Its mineral and briny finish lingers for a very long time.
