THE VINTAGES
Château Fonroque 2014
Weather Conditions During the Growing Season
The season started favorably with early budburst. Flowering took place during a dry, sunny month of June. The summer was more erratic, cool, and stormy. The vines fell behind, and véraison extended over a long period. From the end of August, a particularly warm spell set in long enough to lead to an unusually mild Indian summer. Temperature ranges were wide and favorable for the ripeness of the seeds and skins.
As the weather remained dry, the berries became well concentrated.

Tasting
The purple-garnet color is striking. The nose is complex (morello cherries, wild strawberries, coffee, old roses), fine, and refined. The palate is juicy, lively, and fresh. The mouthfeel is fleshy and caressing. This vintage expresses itself entirely in verticality, with a pleasant limestone tension, fine minerality, and saline notes.
