General Terms and Conditions of Sale

I. Application of the General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTCS)

These terms exclusively govern the mail-order sales of wines and other products offered by Château Fonroque. Failing any special provisions agreed upon in writing between the Parties—particularly within Château Fonroque's commercial offers—orders are automatically subject to these general terms of sale, regardless of any clauses that may appear on documents completed by the buyer.

 II. Purchase

Château Fonroque may refuse the benefit of its offers to any individual or legal entity that proves to be, or represents, a professional reseller. Château Fonroque reserves the right to cancel or refuse any order from a customer with whom there is an ongoing dispute regarding a previous order. Offers are valid within the limits of indicated timeframes and available stock.

The quantities offered by default in the shopping cart can be modified. However, to avoid the risk of breakage during transport, we recommend grouping these products in batches of six (6) bottles or multiples of twelve (12) bottles.

Products are available in limited quantities, and special offers are confidential and time-limited.

Any order will be validated and accepted subject to its full and simultaneous payment.

 III. Pricing

Our prices are expressed inclusive of all taxes in our commercial offers (except en primeur wines) and are valid within metropolitan France.

They apply during the period of validity mentioned on our commercial offers or quotes. Products are billed based on the tariff in effect at the time the order is registered.

 IV. Terms of Payment

When customers pay for their order on the website, Château Fonroque does not have access to their banking information, as payment is processed directly through the bank's electronic payment solution, specifically Société Générale's Sogecommerce solution. Full payment is made at the time of ordering by bank card (Carte Bleue, Visa, Mastercard). The purchase is debited immediately.

If a payment is declined, the customer must contact their bank to verify that there are no issues with their accounts. Château Fonroque cannot be held responsible under any circumstances for this type of situation.

In the event of a payment failure or rejection, the customer owes, in addition to the principal amount due, late payment interest equal to one and a half times the legal interest rate.

Our products remain our property until full payment of their price has been received.

 V. Delivery and Receipt

Products are delivered to the address provided by the buyer. In the event of a change of address, the buyer is requested to notify Château Fonroque.

Delivery of your package to the same address. The products available on the e-commerce website can only be delivered to the countries indicated in the store.

For any other delivery, a shipping quote will be sent to you and must be approved before dispatch.

Standard delivery service. Delivery takes place within 8 to 10 business days from the receipt of the order by our departments.

Shipping from Monday to Friday, except public holidays and days when Château Fonroque is closed. Orders placed on weekends, public holidays, or closure days are processed on the next business day.

 VI. Substitution

Certain wines experience rapid popularity, leading to stockouts. In such situations and with the aim of satisfying our customers, we may offer you a replacement wine with a similar value for money. Otherwise, we will issue a refund.

 VII. Right of Return

Pursuant to article L221-18 of the French Consumer Code, the Customer has a right of withdrawal which may be exercised within a period of 14 calendar days following the date of receipt or collection of the Order. If this period expires on a Saturday, Sunday, public holiday, or non-working day, it shall be extended until the first following business day. Customers wishing to exercise their right of withdrawal must return the Products within the aforementioned period, complete, brand new, and in perfect condition.

  • Return shipping costs shall be borne exclusively by the Customer.
  • The exchange (subject to availability) or refund will be made within a maximum of thirty (30) days from the date the Customer exercises this right.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must notify us of your decision to withdraw from this contract by means of an unambiguous statement (for example, a letter sent by post, fax, or e-mail) sent by post to Château Fonroque, 33 330 Saint Emilion or by e-mail to: laboutique@chateaufonroque.com.
