VINTAGES
Château Cartier 2011
Weather Conditions During the Growing Season
After a mild, dry winter, budbreak occurred early (two weeks ahead of schedule). Summer quickly took the place of spring. Overall temperatures were above seasonal averages, and the weather was dry. Flowering began just as early as budbreak and proceeded very smoothly. On June 26 and 27, temperatures exceeded 40°C, causing sunscald on some grapes. July and August were overcast, but the vines maintained their growth lead. The early harvest benefited from a particularly favorable September.

Tasting
Château Cartier The 2011 vintage is a ruby red with a slight orange hue. Light and airy, the nose initially reveals aromas of blond tobacco and dried flowers, then gently unfolds into notes of spice. On the palate, the wine is long and refined, supported by well-balanced tannins. The texture is silky. The finish, of medium length, is enhanced by subtle, slightly toasty oak notes.
